Nemane

Three and a half! How can this be...its going way too fast. I know I say that all the time...but really. I tear up looking at them, thinking about how fast it is going. I treasure every age, but I never want how they are right now to end. She told her Aunt that she is "Mommy's Baby." Yes you are Baby Girl. No matter how big you get. Her new nickname is Nemane, which is what Boss calls her.
Her favorites right now are:
Still pink
Penguins
Mom's lavender lotion
Playing dress up
Reading books
Doing School workbooks
Ballet
Eating

A Boy and His Guitar

Someone's dream came true in his Easter basket this year.

It never leaves his side.

You should see him play and sing. He strums and does a little squat swagger.

This one kills me.

Gethey Chats

Today was unusual in that Boss and Verity took naps at the same time, but Gethey didn't. She is my sleeper, so its rare that she doesn't nap. But I sure enjoy our time alone together, because she blossoms into a little chatterbox when its just the two of us. I sat down to do some painting and she settled into the chair next to me with her Bible and started going through picture by picture asking me every question under the sun about each one. Here are some of my favorites that I don't want to forget.
G: But does God have a car?
Me: No, God doesn't need a car.
G: Well, the Donut Man says that God is in us...but...blood is in us...so...
Me: Well, blood is in our bodies and God is in our souls.
(She starts going through the Bible looking for a picture of her guardian angel)
G: I want to find a picture of my angel. I think he looks like a ladybug. Cause I want to name my ladybug Barnaby and my angel's name is Barnaby.
Me: There isn't a picture of your angel in the Bible, but he has been always with you, protecting you, ever since you started growing in Randi's tummy.
G: But if your tummy was broken, why can you walk?
Me: Just the baby growing part of my tummy is broken. I can still be a Mommy and walk and do all the other Mommy things.
G:But how did Randi get me out of her tummy?
Me: She gave birth to you.
G: Was I scared of her?
Me: Oh no. You knew she loved you so much and that she took good care of you when you were in her tummy. You felt safe.
G: Well, but did my angel protect me from doctor gloves?
(She has a glove phobia)
Me: Oh yes.
G: Well, did I cy when I was born?
Me: A little bit, but then they wrapped you in a blanket and put a hat on your head and held you and you stopped crying.
-
Other recent gems:
Me: So if we get a pet, would you rather we get a pet cat or dog?
G: A pet dinosaur.
-
G: I think I am getting sick. I don't like being sick. But sometimes I like being a LITTLE sick...cause then I gets lots of food!
-
She spent a day worried about me getting old, and told me that she didn't want me to get old, but wanted me to always stay the Mommy I am now. I thought we had talked it through, but that night as I tucked her in, she whispered into my ear, "But Mommy...when you get old...will you still make me food?"
Gethsemane, no matter how old I get, I will ALWAYS make you food.
